Dr. Dessner, board certified in Orthopedic Physical Therapy (OCS) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT), brings over 20 years of physical therapy clinical experience to Colorado in Motion. After graduating from Washington University in St. Louis, Dr. Dessner practiced in pediatrics before returning to her home state of Iowa to open a physical therapy practice. She has been the owner of successful orthopedic and pediatric practice for over 15 years. A passionate and dedicated clinician, Dr. Dessner believes that if you’re not learning, you’re not growing. For this reason, she seeks opportunities to learn from and educate other physical therapists. She is currently an adjunct professor at South College, TN and assistant faculty with Evidence in Motion where she teaches in a variety of residency and fellowship courses. During her time in Iowa, Dr. Dessner was an active member of the Iowa Physical Therapy Association and served as the Vice President of the SE District. Dr. Dessner is a skilled orthopedic manual physical therapist that is passionate about treating pelvic health issues in men and women with a particular interest in pelvic pain, menopause rehabilitation, and male and female sexual health. An avid road biker and triathlete, Dr. Dessner is excited to explore new challenges in Colorado including mountain biking and hiking.
